Section 3(1) of the Commissioners of Courts Act Chapter 33 of the Laws of Zambia, provides for the Registrar of the High Court, every Deputy Registrar of the High Court and every Magistrate as ex-officio Commissioners for Oaths.

According to Section 5 of Chapter 33 of the Laws of Zambia states that a Commissioner for oath may administer any oath or take any affidavit or declaration for the purpose of any court or matter in Zambia, including any matter required to be sworn, declared or attested under any law relating to the registration of instruments or documents or under any law relating to passports.
